The National Institute of Accountants’ (NIA) e-business strategy and web development is now under the guidance of consulting firm, iFocus.
As a member based organisation with over 12,000 members across Australia, the NIA has a challenge to construct a site that is user friendly, adds value to the membership and demonstrates return on investment for their business.
The NIA is a professional association for accountants that provides among its services, continuing professional education (CPE) and technical updates on tax and legislative issues. The web site is soon to extend the offering of CPE via online learning. Online share trading and membership renewals are also new initiatives.
Mr. Marshall said, “Continual development of the online presence of the NIA is an integral part of the NIA’s strategic plan. Our aim is to ensure the website is a valuable business tool for all members. Online learning will give our overseas members and members living in remote parts of Australia access to a comprehensive CPE program.”
This rigorous approach to online strategy is one of the key aspects to the iFocus methodology. Performing rigorous analysis upfront is strongly advocated in order to direct and control for any e-business initiative.
“Organisations need to be confident that the resources allocated over time will deliver results, that is, demonstrate a return on investment. If they are not confident, why are they doing it?” stated iFocus Managing Director, Greg Muller.
The web site development activity follows the recent move of the NIA National Office to Flinders Lane in Melbourne. A move that reflects the commitment to improving the level of services and support to members.
