Release: Knox City Council gets serious about online service delivery

Released: July 2001

iFocus, with the support of technical partner Commercial Interactive Media, has been awarded the contract to deliver awareness training and information gathering sessions for staff, and to develop an Online Service Delivery Strategy and Implementation Plan.

The City of Knox, located in Melbourne (Australia), is a proactive leader in the use of information technology solutions, is looking to deliver a platform that will enable the staff, management and Councillors to more efficiently and effectively service the community and support daily business processes.

The strategy will also address the role of existing business systems and approach to information management across Council. Achieving legislative compliance, disability awareness and standards are also key underlying objectives.

The strategy must also align with the Municipal Association of Victoria's 'Local Government Online Project' aimed at improving the eBusiness capability and infrastructure for Council's across the State.

"A key deliverable for Knox is a common vision through which the whole of Council can understand and embrace." comments Greg Muller, iFocus Managing Director. "Major change projects will often come unstuck without a purpose and direction that is clear to all stakeholders."
