iFocus - Online Possibilities
Release: Melbourne-based consulting firm iFocus stems the tide of online losses with a low cost, detailed Internet reviewing and reporting solution

Released: March 2001

IRIS™ (Integrated Review of Internet Systems) provides an independent evaluation of site performance and presents valuable strategies for optimising an organisation’s web dollar.

A standard IRIS™ examines six site focus points that impact customer satisfaction and return on investment, such as Design, Information Architecture and Usability. Each focus point is evaluated and documented by an expert consultant in that field. The consolidated report includes assessment and recommendations for the revision and improvement of the site as well as quantitative reports that can be handed straight to developers listing areas such as broken links and hard to reach pages.

The IRIS™ methodology evaluates the site’s current market position and suggests strategies to improve that position. The report helps site owners assess and direct web development and protect their Internet investment. As iFocus Managing Director, Greg Muller, says, “IRIS™ can confirm what the site does well but directs strategic improvements that optimise the total user experience.”

The value of the IRIS™ is that it provides a plain English appraisal of the site from the customer’s point of view. This independent standpoint can assist management’s communication with their internal technical teams or web service providers. The first IRIS™ establishes a documented baseline from which improvement can be effectively measured.

Often companies spend thousands on a web development to find it doesn’t meet their user requirements. IRIS™ presents a realistic appraisal of what can be done to leverage off the existing work before the ‘baby is thrown out with the bath water’.

An IRIS™ can be performed on any online presence including, Internet, Intranet and Extranet sites. IRIS™ can also be tailored to evaluate strategic components of an online presence such as individual online course units or product catalogues.
